Creative Initiative for African Development (CIFAD) is a non-governmental and non-profit organization that works with rural and suburban communities in Africa to identify the challenges of development and facilitate creative and sustainable actions in mitigating them.

The CIFAD's Objectives
- To promote gender equality, socio-political, and economic equality.
- To empower poor rural and urban areas economically and socially.
- To protect natural resources and prevent desertification.
- To create awareness on health and community sanitation.
- To use innovative ways to achieve our goals.
- To implement programs aimed at women and youth welfare, peace building, basic health care services and bio-diversity.
CIFAD believes that given meaningful participation and inclusion, voice, community assets, capacity development, sustainability, transformative capacity, collective planning and action, accountability, community leadership, adaptability, collaboration, appropriate technical and financial support, local communities can effectively organize to identify community priorities and address local problems by working in partnership with local governments and other institutions to build small-scale infrastructure and deliver basic services.
